LEGO display cases: the model that took you several evenings deserves better than an open shelf
A big model spends a few evenings on the table, then years on a piece of furniture, and dust ends up creeping in between every stud. These clear acrylic display cases are designed for specific sets, from the Titanic, more than a meter (3.3 ft) long, to the tall helmet of Sauron. Several of them add a decorated backdrop that puts the model back in its scene: a storm for the Black Pearl, a giant wave for the Orca, the red sky of the Upside Down. Still looking for something to show off? Our LEGO XXL models are made to end up behind acrylic.
Do these cases fit LEGO® sets?
Yes. Each display case is cut to the dimensions of a specific LEGO® set, listed on its product page. The car display case comes with its inside dimensions, and the stepped case is made for minifigures. To be perfectly clear, though: these are not LEGO® products. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse these display cases.
Does the model come with the case?
No, the display case arrives empty. It is made for the set you have already built, or for the one you are about to give as a gift. Before ordering, simply check that your model is the one named on the product page.
How do you assemble an acrylic display case?
The clear panels fasten with screws at the corners onto a thick base, and everything goes together by hand. The model sits on the base first, then the case closes around it. The minifigure case simply closes with a lid that rests on its steps.
With or without a printed backdrop?
The printed backdrop goes behind the model and recalls its scene: the Eye for Sauron's helmet, a lit-up racetrack for the Bugatti, the opening sequence of the films for the Aston Martin. Without a backdrop, the case stays fully transparent and lets the wall behind it show through. Both make sense: the backdrop tells a story, the bare case steps aside for the model.
Where should you place a display case?
On a sturdy piece of furniture: at eye level for cars, which read best from the side, and higher up for ships and tall models, which look best from below. For the ten F1 cars, the display mounts on the wall and frees up all the space they used to take on the shelf.
