Are these animals compatible with LEGO® bricks?

Yes. All the bricks in this collection are standard size and fit with those of the major brands, including the ones you already have at home. To be perfectly clear, though: these are not LEGO® products. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse these models, and is not responsible for how they are used.

What age are they for?

Ages 8 and up for the whole collection. Below that, the pieces are small and the steps many. Above it, it is mostly a question of patience: a ten-year-old can finish a 209-piece frog in an evening, while a 1,650-piece tiger keeps an adult busy for a whole weekend.

How long do they take to build?

An evening under 750 pieces, a few more hours up to 1,000, and a weekend beyond that. The quickest in the collection is the dolphin: 316 pieces and an afternoon. The longest is the T-Rex. Every product page shows the piece count, the difficulty and the time to plan for.

Do the animals move once built?

Many of them do, and nothing is glued: the head turns, the legs bend, the tail swivels, and the pose you choose stays put. Some go further, like the butterfly whose wings flap to reveal four patterns, or the octopus whose head opens onto its gears. Models with lights run on a button cell battery, which is never included.

Which one to start with?

The frog or the dolphin if this is your first build of this size: few pieces, no tricky steps, and a result that stands up on its own. For a gift, the 3-in-1 models are a great idea, since the same pieces make three different animals to build one after another.
