In the early 1980s, Renault took its little city car, pulled out the rear seat and put the engine in its place. The rear fenders swelled to make room for wider wheels, and the R5 Turbo was ready for the rally stages.
This brick model captures the white version with the black roof, the air intakes cut into the sides, the antenna and the yellow plate up front. You build all 1,308 pieces up to those rear hips, the part that gives the car its whole silhouette.
Turn it to a rear three-quarter view: that is the angle where the flared fenders give away what hides behind the seats.
