The CreatiBrick™ Advantage
An American diesel locomotive looks nothing like the trains you see in a European station. The engine sits under a long, narrow hood, the cab rises at one end, and a walkway with handrails runs all the way around so the crew can move along the outside. This build recreates an EMD SD40-2, one of the great workhorses of North American freight lines, in the colors of the Union Pacific Railroad.
With 1,139 pieces, it is a satisfying project with real heft once finished. The yellow body with its red stripe and gray roof, the Union Pacific logos, the side railings and the heavy plow at the front are all there, and the cab has room for two minifigures. At 40 cm (15.7 in) long, it looks its best displayed side on.
